For Such A Time As This...

"For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
Esther 4:14
.
His heart beats unlike any other time. His eyes fight back the emotion which desires to burst out. He has dreamed for years, maybe even a lifetime of this. Tonight, with the help of others, he has realized his boyhood fantasy...
.
He is a Superbowl Champion!
.
Who you may say? Name him, from the little known... Freddy Keiaho, Dede Dorsey, Ryan LaCasse to the names that filled the sports commentators lips... Peyton Manning, Dominic Rhodes, Adam Vinatieri... ALL OF THEM GET A SUPERBOWL XLI RING.
.
What young boy or girl doesn't dream of a big day, if it's not sports it's piano. If it's not piano, it's math. If it's not math... well you get the picture. All of us train, study, work, practice and strive to meet the goals that we believe will fulfil our lives. What's unfortunate is that sometimes no matter how much we train or how much we succeed, the end is empty... UNLESS...
.
Unless you understand that the trophy you hold holds little appeal compared to the Lord you serve. Don't diminish the accomplishments of the Indianapolis Colts, they played as a team and they won as a team, just listen to the interviews and you'll hear them, one voice, one team, one great victory for all. Like the Musketeers of old.. ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL...
.
All the dust has settled, or should I say the rain has fallen. When all was said and done, guess what, no body took the podium and said "I did it..." Instead they said it was all of them and the hard work they did together that brought them to this time. And boy, did they use this time well. Jim Ursay, great job keeping your focus... "All The Glory Goes To God". Coach Dungy, you could not have spoken better "I Think The Lord Really Prepared Us". Prepared us for what? To show that Christians can go through the difficult (Death of Coach Dungy's son, team sickness and injuries) and come out the other side knowing the winning is second to winning eternally.
.
This instance reminds me of the story most remember from the Old Testament. Change the players, it's not the the King, it's a world championship. It's not persecution of a particular ethnic group, it's the hope of silence from a changed group. Try to make it about black coaches and the coaches remind you it's about the teams and their character. What character you may ask...
.

Don't forget to listen to the video clips on these sites
.
These men, despite all the hoopla of the game, decided they would show the world how men who follow Christ act under pressure... Are they perfect? No, but they don't use their imperfection for an excuse, instead they use it to inspire them to be closer the one who can keep cleaning out the imperfections, through His blood, and because of that...
.
I believe these men were born...
.
For Such A Time As This !
